Public Accountant, attaining a CPA,If I could summarize myself in one word it would be adaptable. Throughout my life I have found myself in vastly different fields of work and studies while managing to succeed in all my ventures. Life has taken me from working as a lifeguard, woodworker, IT technician, and more recently Accountant. My studies have changed from Biology, Nutrition, BCIS, and now Accounting. Through it all I have made great grades and excelled in every job but, Accounting is where my true passion lies. As an Accountant you are sometimes required to wear different hats and that is where my strengths reside. I pride myself on being able to not only learn new skills but exceling at them.I accumulated a 3.88/4.0 GPA and a 3.7/4.0 Accounting GPA. I managed to attain this all while working a Full-Time position at Geek Squad as an IT technician. At Geek Squad I spend my time troubleshooting and repairing computers, smartphones, and tablets. Throughout the day I also manage a small team that does the customer facing. I delegate them where we need them and guide them when they have trouble. Through this I have sharpened my skills as a leader and problem solver.In the Accounting program at UNT I have learned GAAP standards, Accounting Methods, Auditing methods, Tax Policies, and how to write a cash-flow statement, Income Statement, and Balance Sheet. UNT had many projects in capstone courses dealing with Excel, Tableau, and SQL. In Excel I learned VLOOKUPs as well as PivotTables. In one Tableau assignment I made a dashboard for a board of directors for company showcasing the cost drivers by division and geolocation. With that information they could decided to cut certain programs and decrease costs where they can.Going to school and work Full-Time can be stressful and in my free time I enjoy going for hikes, runs, and bike rides. I routinely take part of various half-marathons and 10ks throughout the DFW area. Once I have been revitalized, I head back into my studies or work. I am a hardworking individual ready to help a company in any way I can.
