Directed a split-language staff of 28 Chinese-speaking staff and 4 English-speaking staff.Oversaw lesson preparation and camp activities for 78 students, including debates, Model UN simulations, and speech contests.Taught classes on English as a second language and introductory economics.Originally hired as a teacher, I was invited to lead the Beijing camp on account of my bilingual ability, maturity, and performance in the Shanghai camp immediately before the Beijing camp. Directing the English summer camps in Beijing was a major test of my managerial ability, compounded by the language barriers and cultural differences between the the 4 American staff and the native Chinese staff. I quickly learned to identify and resolve misunderstandings, while building a long-term framework for conducting the camp in the future years.

The 25-page papers were the hitherto the longest papers I had written, requiring planning skills which proved invaluable when later writing my undergraduate thesis.
