Contracting as a development lead for seven iOS and Android developers on a nationally recognized competing ApplePay product for a Fortune 100 company, my team produced product with the LOWEST NUMBER OF DEFECTS in the Fortune 100's company's mobile app history. Improved code base by introducing MVVM and viable reusable Cucumber functional testing and more comprehensive CI.In addition to my development lead responsibilities I helped setup and coached three Scrum teams. Facilitated the creation of a lean process in a Fortune 100 company that used a Kanban and Jeff Patton’s story mapping technique to ensure that the Product, UX and Development triad focused on delivering a Minimal Viable Product (MVP) iterations that are valuable, usable and feasible. The highly visible process replaced Waterfall’s over-the-wall documentation with collaborative, iterative, fail fast, research driven live code cutting Minimal Marketable Feature (MMF) from months to weeks. The process also included critical sync points to minimize lead times with other Water-Scrum-Fall systems in the larger enterprise.

Identified, created, and marketed a new real-time mobile app to not only provide real-time scoring but to help competitors know WHEN to get their horses ready. Initially developed for IOS/Android it is now available as a PWA at HorseShowTracker.com.HorseShowTracker allows thousands of people to get home hours earlier each day for the nation's top events in the country.App has over 180k users with optional subscriptions up to $100+/yr.

Introduced and coached Jeff Patten's Story Mapping and Lean Kanban Boards to better visualize, prioritize, and identify end-to-end incremental releases of user needs. Prepared lean Kaison analysis A3s. Co-designed and developed a financial records processor using Spring-Batch Framework using test-driven development with Cucumber, JUnit, and EasyMock. Designed enterprise intranet authentication and authorization development standards using ClearTrust SSO Framework and Spring-Security framework. Deliverables included a 40+ page enterprise standards document.

Identified opportunities and collaboratively redirected the proposed approach to reduce effort while exponentially increasing value. Created a new service delivery platform architecture and lead 10+ cross-system development teams communications to replace hard-coded designs with a table-driven product catalog-quoting-ordering-inventory systems and user interfaces to introduce 40+ products in months rather than years. Modeled hundreds of new business objects to greatly enhance data integrity across federated systems. Program touted as "the largest, most successful effort ever" for the multi-billion dollar company.Design and process techniques used to interface with offshoring teams were touted as the desired approach for future engagements.

Project Highlight: Programmable power meter Role: Lead developer/Architect/Analyst 1992-1994Co-introduced process to work closely with marketing to ensure only the absolute requirements were implemented to produce a flagship power meter with unprecedented quality and one-fourth the resources of previous products.

Developed firmware for VMEBus 68000 CISC and Sun Sparc RISC processors using Assembly, C, C++ on unix and Sun platforms.

Project Highlight: Submarine inventory systemRole: Lead Developer 1988Read specifications for 150 disjointed displays and created set of only ten display types. Designed an automated display specification reader to convert the screens into table driven displays.Implemented “finite state machine” to drive the screens. Unknowingly, the application followed the now classic model-view-controller pattern. The system was touted as “a lesson of how applications should be written”.
