About Rayven S.

I am pursing my Master of Social work at Wilfred Laurier University.I graduated from the Social Service Worker program at Sheridan College and am currently registered with the OCSWSSW. I gained my BA Honors in Psychology from York University. I work as a Resident Counsellor Advocate at a shelter for folks fleeing gender-based violence, where I have the opportunity to provide counselling, facilitate support groups, and engage in 1:1 case management with multifaceted clientele. I practice ongoing self-reflection and personal accountability to provide services using feminist, anti-oppressive, anti-racist, disability justice, gender inclusion, decolonizing, and harm reduction frameworks.I am passionate about social justice in the context of gender-based violence, gender and sexuality, racial equity, mental health, and substance use. My goal, always, is to foster accountable spaces and empower others to find their voice.
