Since 2014 Gods Dogs Rescue (Woman & Veteran Owned 501 c3 organization) has successfully rescued over 2000 abandoned, abused, lost and dumped dogs and puppies from the streets of San Antonio and surrounding counties. Early in 2015 Gods Dogs Rescue began using rescue listing sites to broaden exposure for the rescued dogs to areas of the country that do not have the stray animal problems that Texas has. This created a need for transportation services to get the adopted dogs to their new families in the Pacific Northwest and New England areas with the occasional international adoptions in Canada. Initially Gods Dogs Rescue used paid dog transport companies to help get the dogs to their new homes. With the added exposure generated by the rescue listing sites, adoptions increased and paid transportation soon became an expensive option that diverted financial resources needed to provide quality dogs that are fully vetted, healthy and socialized that easily adapt to their new life as a treasured part of someones family. By June of 2015 the board members made the decision to start transporting the dogs as a part of the rescue and offering transportation services for other rescues at a substantial savings over most for hire transport companies. To date Gods Dogs Rescue and other rescues that partner with us has moved between 1500 to 2000 dogs off of the streets of San Antonio, Houston & DFW area to adopters and no kill rescue facilities in the Pacific Northwest, New England, Alaska & Canada. Being in the Military City USA ( San Antonio) finding Service Dog Candidates among the rescues to place with veterans, improving 2 lives is near and dear to Gods Dogs Rescue.
