My role is as a mentor is to help teach kids programming across a range of proficiency, from beginner-level concepts to full-fledged Python and even HTML coders. Students start using Scratch, a program that helps solidify basic ideas of code and eventually apply them later. I am open to teaching by using trial and error methods and even developing or sharpening their soft skills. These skills range from teamwork to problem-solving, which are crucial within the programming industry. It is delightful to transfer my passion for computer science and help kids learn about their interests. Creating a safe, fun space where kids can come to learn for free and enjoy it enough to tell their friends to join showed me how beneficial my involvement in my local community is.

My team's project centers around establishing a prototype metaverse environment that uses Web 3.0 standards to enable interoperability between models of virtual and physical objects. We utilize Nvidia Omniverse, Python scripting, Autodesk 3Ds max, and other platforms to assemble assets in a terrain. As an intern, I helped get closer to our goals by making APIs that are quality-of-life improvements to the simulation. I researched AI to see how algorithmic capabilities can align with the intention of multiple agents interacting with each other. I also did research on Spatial web to adhere to IEEE P2874 protocols. These protocols use HTSP that enable programming various agents (objects) within the environment.

I helped out my community was when I was a student worker at the Welcome Center at my college. I assisted students with various concerns regarding admissions and financial aid answering any questions they had. For example, I helped students requiring accommodations or with language barriers fill out college applications and financial forms and helped familiarize older students returning to college with the changes in the education system. This includes helping them look for and enroll in courses. As a student, myself, I am aware of the specific needs of the student body and it is gratifying to be able to support my peers with these important administrative tasks, knowing that it helps them pursue their higher education.
