Etihad Power Generation Limited (EPGL) is setting up a 74 MW cogeneration power plant under IPP mode based on bagasse and other biomass fuels. The plant is designed to run on multiple biomass fuel technology. The Plant is being built at Rahim Yar Khan, Punjab adjacent to the Etihad Sugar Mills Limited. HP Cogen-Pak Project under the EU funded SWITCH-Asia Programme aims to promote export of surplus electrical power to the national grid or to allied industrial units, through replication of high pressure cogeneration technologies in the sugar sector by supporting sugar mills through technology standardization, enabling access to finance, and mobilization of relevant public sector authorities. Following were three components of the project,- Training and Capacity Building of the Sugar Sector and Technology Providers- Improving Access to Finance- Development of a conducive Regulatory Regime

Under USAID PDP, as project manager, successfully implemented a standalone Meter Data Collection (MDC) system, and managing it centrally for 5 DISCOs. The MDC system has been deployed for residential, industrial, commercial, agri-culture consumers and for energy accounting at distribution transformers. The project involved ~17,000 meter-ing nodes spread across these 5 DISCOs. Main responsibilities were as follows:Major Responsibilities:Preparation of specifications for solution components i.e. MDC System, Communication Network, Co-Located Data Center, AMR meters etc., bids evaluation of system components, design review, contract writing, solution deployment keeping in view allocated cost & timelines, integration with DISCO's billing system, system UAT and go live, operation and maintenance of the system.As a CTO of solar PV projects, played a key role in establishment of business portfolio of solar PV system (small & medium scale for commercial and industrial applications). Provided guidelines and development of procedures to conduct site feasibility studies, grid interconnection assessment & capacity analysis, system layout, planning & optimization. Detailed design and selection of solution components, preparation of RFPs, evaluation of bids, preparation of proposals, financial modelling, cost & economy analysis etc. Lead a team of engineers to successfully implementation of various projects.

In leading role, took the initiative of first ever smart metering project in Pak for generation, Tx lines and grids in K-Electric. In phase-I, the main objective was to monitor remotely & accurately all energy import export points at EHT level, 11 KV level & to find Tx losses automatically. The system was implemented in 5 KE generating plants, 2 IPPs and 56 grids. In Phase-II, led the successful implementation of first ever smart metering pilot project for consumer meters of KE. In addition to automated consumption data collection, real time alarm features were implemented to detect theft and hardware anomalies The key tasks were:• Project feasibility preparation• Project budgeting and approval from management• Preparation of RFP of the project• Correspondence with different vendors locally and internationally to find suitable solution• Tech evaluation of proposals• Arrangement of HSE training for contractor work force• Monitor progress of the project on daily basis and ensure execution of project as per project schedule and within budget• Monitoring of testing, commissioning and go live activities• Manage day-to-day operations of the deployed system while complying HSE procedures• Correspondence with OEM for support of AMM system within contractual terms and conditions• Preparation and management of annual capital and revenue budget of the deptt• Preparation of process flows and SOPs for O&M of automated metering system• Preparation of org chart, JDs and filling of approved positions of deptt in coordination with HR• Development of KPI’s against each position in deptt• Monitoring performance of individual team member • Annual performance review and target setting of team members• Periodic reporting of system health and performance to provide feedback to management on the effectiveness of the system• Monthly reporting of maintenance tasks, Tx losses, grid reports etc. to higher management.• Presentation in monthly review meeting of Directorate

• Routine maintenance and troubleshooting of all field instruments, PLCs (PLC 5, SLC 500, SIEMENS PLC-S7) and DCS• Outage coordination, scheduling and planning, active participation in different task forces.• To do correspondence with vendor & suppliers regarding technical and commercial issues as & when re-quired• Inventory management of PLCs/DCS• Planning and execution of I&C maintenance tasks in Boiler, Turbine and BOP areas as per work orders and closing of work ordersThe Project (Around USD 7.0 MM) to replace Distributed Control System (DCS) at both plants (Pak Gen and Lal Pir): Played vital role in this unique project of its nature demanding extraordinary plan-ning, scheduling, resource management that ended in successful commissioning within available outage window and also resulted in considerable cost saving against budget. Lal Pir DCS replacement activity was successfully completed within record time of 28 days. The main responsibilities were;• Prepared complete data base for Pak Gen DCS. Termination removal from old DCS, reconnection of ca-bles with the new DCS and field testing of all I/O's were based on this document. Detailed working was done on almost 5500 parameters (for both new and old DCS) • Found discrepancies b/w old and new DCS by comparing old and new schematics• Prepared day to day man power requirement based on project schedule• Technical correspondence with OEM (MHI Japan)• Leading installation, testing (Loop and Drive) and commissioning team of subsystems of DCS e.g. APC, DEH• Punch list preparation during and after commissioning of DCS• Boiler/turbine interlock tests first time with new DCS• Prepared complete list of old DCS hardware and evaluated its cost• Maintenance and trouble shooting of MHI Japan, DCIS sys (DIASIS UP V) and DIASYS Netmation DCS• Follow up of warranty issues with OEM• Logic/graphic development in DCS
