• Investigate and assess alerts for potential money laundering, terrorist financing and other high-profile crime that may expose the Bank to risk.
• Provide an efficient and detailed analysis of investigations in regards to Unusual Transaction Reports (UTRs), New York Agency Referrals (NYAs), Corporate Security Referrals (CS), Production Orders (PO) and transaction.
• Ensuring that necessary reporting (FINTRAC) requirements are met by providing accurate documentation, timely disposition and provision of critical information assessment as required.
• Maintain a current understanding of money laundering, terrorist financing and other high-profile crime, including policies, procedures, regulations, industry best practice, criminal typologies and developing trends.
• Performed preliminary and final testing for new or upgraded systems/applications and rules for pilot projects to be implemented department wide. Identified potential process improvements while working closely with.

• Detect and prevent fraudulent activity with respect to the Bank’s credits cards, debit cards, Scotia Online, Email Money and Western Union Transfers.
• Analyzing alerts triggered by suspicious activity using various fraud detection tools.
• Making a decision based on the risk factors of the generated alert to suspend access to the customer’s account pending verification or to presume the following activity legitimate.
• Working closely as a team to share information and trends to ensure large scare fraud trends are identified and actioned accordingly.
• Providing a high level of customer service by receiving incoming calls and written inquiries from customers, branches and other Bank departments to quickly and efficiently resolve fraud concerns or complaints.
• Developing a thorough knowledge of the Bank’s fraud mitigation tools and applications (Proactive Risk Manager, TCS, IMAGE, EML, Lotus Notes, AMEX GNS, Web Extraction, Visa Risk Manager and Interac Certapay).
