I studied Biotechnology Engineering at Tec de Monterrey, under the Leadership for Social Development modality. I studied the Master's Degree in Earth Sciences, at UNAM, Institute of Geology, in addition to the Diploma in Environmental Dimension in the design and Execution of Public Policies, organized by the UNAM University Environment Program and UNESCO. I am the founder and CEO of Húmica, a startup company where we developed Biochar-based biofertilizers that sequester atmospheric carbon in agrosystems in Mexico. I have obtained different recognitions such as the CEMEX-TEC Social Entrepreneurs Award and the Ashoka-American Express Emerging Entrepreneurs Award during 2014. Later in 2015 I was chosen among the 10 best innovators in Mexico by the MIT Technology Review magazine, edited by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. I worked as Coordinator of the Binational University Node of Innovation (NoBI) program, in the Coordination of Innovation and Development of the UNAM, with the purpose of applying methodologies so that Mexican researchers and entrepreneurs achieve that their technological developments leave the laboratories and reach society.
