Luis Javier Lopez is Vice president National Support, Private Banking Canada. RBC Private Banking provides high-net-worth individuals, families and family offices with comprehensive strategies and solutions for their wealth management needs. Luis has responsibility for overseeing key national office support teams focused on operations & compliance, enablement & training, communication and portfolio strategy and effectiveness. In his role Luis leads a team responsible for implementing key transformational business strategies that improve both the employee and client experience, while ensuring safety and soundness across our platform through an engaged workforce. He works closely with key partners across Private Banking and the broader organization. Luis has a broad range of experience including business consulting with a major global firm prior to joining RBC 18 years ago. His RBC tenure includes experience in risk management, commercial banking, wealth management and private banking. He has deep knowledge in credit effectiveness and a proven ability to drive change, all of which serve him well in this position. Luis sits on the National Office Senior Management team and reports to Executive Vice president and Head of Private Banking. He holds an honors degree on industrial engineering from University of Los Andes (Colombia) and an MBA from Schulich School of Business. His commitment to community is demonstrated through his leadership for the past two years as a Cabinet member and leader of the Private Banking Employee Giving Campaign. Outside of RBC Luis founded a Refugee Sponsorship and has been mentoring Newcomer professionals to Canada for the last 10 years.
