At TotalEnergies, I apply this expertise to ensure impactful research project outcomes that further our commitment to a healthier planet.My academic journey began with a degree in Fisheries and Aquaculture Engineering (1998), followed by a Master’s in Biological Oceanography and Marine Environment (1999), and a PhD in Environmental Sciences (2003) from Pierre & Marie Curie University (Sorbonne Universities, France), awarded with highest honors. My career includes significant roles across Europe and MENA: contributing to the establishment of Tunisia’s Seas National Observatory, working with UNESCO on ecohydrological management systems and serving as Deputy Director of the UNESCO International Centre for Coastal Ecohydrology.Since joining Qatar University in 2013, I have led initiatives in Marine conservation, Coral reefs ecology and restoration, Algae biotechnology, Integrated water resources management (IWRM), and bio-energy technology transfer for the MENA region. With over 125 peer-reviewed publications, I remain committed to advancing sustainable practices through research, policy advocacy, and cross-sectoral collaboration. I am also honored to serve as the President of the SETAC - Arabian Gulf Branch.
