I’m a senior C# software engineer with a specialism in handling, processing, storing and displaying spatial information. I was the lead developer on an application that covered the whole of the uk with over 33 million polygons in across multiple categories that were visualised on a map along with along with addition associated information. I also developed mapping functionality for another vehicle tracking application where location boundaries were drawn and stored, routes calculated from a to b and if the vehicle was was off route alerts were raised.I have over 20 years experience in developing web applications using Microsoft technologies currently targeting C#, .Net Core, Spatial C# Libraries, Blazor, SQL Server, Spatial SQL and Azure. Over 30 years experience in software development within the IT industry from mainframes through desktop PCs to web applications.I'm also an enthusiastic educator volunteering to run a Code Club teaching the top years of primary school the basics of Computational Thinking and programming skills in an after school club. I believe that this is beneficial on a personal level being able to put my years of experience to use while also gaining new experiences myself. At a corporate level I feel it is my responsibility to share my experiences with the next generation of employees to help develop their skills through mentoring.I'm always interested in expanding my knowledge / experiences in the computing / education arena. I'm an experienced panoramic photographer with over 20 years experience in the field of creating panoramic images for print and interactive viewing and have had work exhibited on the International stage.
