About Rachel Borsich

I never liked math growing up. If I could go back in time and tell my middle-school self that my job would be statistical analysis someday, I would simply never believe it. I spent my childhood and teen years with my nose stuck in books, much preferring the stories of Shakespeare and mystery novels to statistics or the scientific method.It wasn't until I got to college and experienced a research methods class that my world began to change. For the first time, data wasn't just a one-off experiment in a high school classroom, and statistics could be used for real applications. Data was a way to quantify the world, to reflect it back in meaningful ways and make the best possible decisions. It wasn't boring numbers, it was a story,My favorite part of my job is being able to look at data, read what it is saying, and tell that story. By creating dashboards and visualizations I can help improve patient care, guide financial decisions, monitor improvement processes, and create meaningful change. It looks different than the stories I loved as a kid, but I love the way I get to tell stories now.
