For the past year, Bob has been primarily responsible for supporting a massive 100+ terabyte data warehouse that supports a revenue assurance application for one of the largest telecommunications carriers in the world. The warehouse is in use 24x7, and is located an ocean away. Money depends on it never losing information or giving incorrect answers. The warehouse is implemented on a massively parallel computing system, in which components fail as a normal matter of course.
