I was in this role from 2003 until 2009, my responsibilities included:- Day-to-day running and managing of IT systems.- Supporting students and staff in the use of IT systems in a helpdesk-style role.- Maintaining hardware, software and managing the network infrastructure.- Managed MS Windows Server, MS Exchange 2003/2007, SharePoint 2007, SQL Server 2000/2005 and Capita SIMS.Net (Management Information System).In this role I also:- Was involved in significantly expanding the IT infrastructure in the school starting from 2 IT suites and a handful of office desktops to 5 IT suites and every teacher having a desktop machine and interactive whiteboard in their classroom. - Upgrading two NT 4 domains (one being RM Connect based) to Active Directory domains gaining experience in setting up many aspects of a network including DNS, DHCP, scripting and Group Policy.- Setup an unattended network installation for Windows XP desktops using Microsoft’s Remote Installation Services.- Wrote and implemented an electronic inventory system replacing the existing paper one using MySQL and PHP.- Implemented firewall and web filter solution using both SonicWall and Censornet replacing externally hosted Local Authority solution.
