PREMIUM is Maastricht University’s interdisciplinary Honours programme for excellent, motivated master’s students. Throughout this project, which took five months, I’ve got to know Roeland as a very enthusiastic, reliable, proactive, structured, communicative and engaged team member. He proved to have well developed leadership skills, is a good organiser and very punctual, he has a good work ethic and is passionate about any work he does. I am sure that Roeland has a successful career ahead of him. Once selected for the PREMIUM programme, students are grouped together in interdisciplinary teams. This extracurricular programme provides an extra challenge for talented students and prepares them for the labour market, aiming to effectively bridge the gap between study and career. PREMIUM students work on a project for an external client under the guidance of a project mentor and participate in master classes and workshops. Roeland and three other students took care of the PREMIUM programme project of IRIS DESIREE CLAESSENS by doing research (primary and secondary) and developing a rebranding strategy, communication strategy and growth strategy (including HR, financial and legal advice) for the brand. Iris Desiree Claessens is a Dutch jewellery designer based in Maastricht who graduated in 2017 from the Maastricht Academy Fine Arts and Design. She founded her jewellery label in 2018 and translates her appreciation for nature into jewellery pieces. During the years, the label grew substantially and next steps have to be taken to make the label flourish, expand globally and build a profound plan and (marketing) strategy."
