As a programming consultant for LUCRUM, I was responsible for assisting a Financial Technology company in updating their Windows based Teller software package from VB6 to a .NET solution. This application is used to handle day-to-day financial transactions for the banking industry. My effort, expertise and professionalism lead to a full-time position with the company I was assisting.

I designed and developed a web-based content management and member notification for an insurance company in the Cincinnati area. This system was developed in C#, Adobe Flash, and Microsoft SQL Server. The content management system allowed process owners to create and maintain legislative and regulatory news items via an online rich text editor. When new items where added, reviewed, and activated, a customer-facing page would display the new items in chronological order. The process owner could then send an email to all registered users, making them aware of the recent content additions.I developed a Job Search and Application system for a large health care provider. This web-based application was developed using C#, ASP.NET and Microsoft SQL Server. It allowed web users to search for job openings based on specific criteria. The matching job openings were returned in a sorted, paged listed that the user could use to view position details and apply online, via the online application. The online application would notify the hiring manager/human resources via email that a new application had been added.I worked with a team designing and developing a dynamic Online Tutorial System for a computer-assisted legal research company. This system was written using C#, ASP.NET Web Forms, and Microsoft SQL Server. There were two primary components to the Online Tutorial System; an administration module that allowed content creators to create and maintain online tutorials using a rich text online editor and role-based approval process. The second component was the customer-facing component that allowed registered users to view any available online tutorials.

At Road Show media, I was responsible for leading a small team of developers. Additionally, I was responsible for designing and developing new web sites and content streaming solutions.I was responsible for creating an encoding solution and program administration system that allowed us to stream live recordings (typically annual share-holder meetings and town hall style meetings for large energy companies in the Houston area).One of the first projects I developed was a paid site that integrated into several popular online dating sites. This site allowed registered users to save online profiles in a central repository. The main goal for this site was to allow users to record data on prospective dates and then perform background checks. This site was initially developed on a “go-live” license for the ASP.NET 2.0 beta due to the newly added membership API and master page functionality. Additionally, this site utilized SOAP based web-services to communicate with multiple 3rd party vendors for payment processing and background checks.I was responsible for developing a new e-commerce solution to replace their existing Miva Merchant e—commerce solution. I worked closely with our existing e-commerce customers as well as new customers to develop a highly customizable package that would meet their existing needs with room to grow. This solution was developed using C#, ASP.NET Web Forms, ASP.NET Web Services, and Microsoft SQL Server. Additionally, it integrated into a 3rd party payment processor via a re-usable library I had developed for other paid membership sites.

Mik & Associates was a small custom and commercial software development company that focused on accounting system integration, and was my first “real” experience with the software development life cycle. I learned many concepts on software and database design, QA, and project management. Due to my eagerness and willingness to learn, I quickly became a valuable asset to the small development company and began handling all customer support, QA, and documentation.One of my first programming assignments was to develop a multi-user time/project tracking software system that replaced the single-user Access database that was being used. Initially, this project was written in VB6 and used SQL Server as the database engine. Within the first six-months, my talents as a web developer/designer where realized and I began maintaining the company’s external web-site as well as developing an internal Intranet site that would be used to track customers, sales, technical support issues, project time keeping. Initially this was developed using Classic ASP.I was responsible for technical sales, requirements gathering, technical demonstrations, implantation, and end-user training. Additionally, I managed the quality assurance team, and trained several new hires on each of our products, and how to develop test cases.My prior experience and knowledge with Retail Management aided in the design and development of the Fusion Retail System – a completely integrated retail point of sale for small to mid-sized retail businesses.I was responsible for developing corporate branding, including all graphics, logos, product packaging, web sites, brochures, and tradeshow materials.One of the last projects I worked on, prior to relocating to Houston, Texas, was an e-commerce site for a bariatric vitamin company based in Florida. This project utilized our existing accounting system integration module, which posted sales transactions to the Macola Accounting System.

Connect Computer Solutions was a small startup computer company delivering a wide range of hardware and software solutions, as well as technical support, to small businesses throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth Area. My primary responsibilities included building and maintaining customer’s computers as well as software development. My first development project was to develop a PC-Based Kiosk for a chain of grocery stores. This solution was developed using a HTML front-end.
