The responsibilities of a Network Controller range from the co-ordination of High Voltage outages on the Queensland electricity grid. This role includes the analysis and simulation of future work which compounds in the writing of technical switching sheets that guide the safe and efficient switching of HV equipment in the field. Operational duties include overseeing and authorizing HV switching operations and responding to unplanned issues and outages in real time through the use of SCADA and network knowledge. I received my authorisation to co-ordinate outages and HV switching on a distribution level in 2013 and am currently working towards level 2 status involving transmission and sub transmission work.As a paraprofessional Engineer it is expected of me to keep abreast of new models, practices and equipment that arises, as well as, the production of teaching content, HV schematics and gaining knowledge in all sectors of the industry. A large part of my training as a Paraprofessional engineer was a rotational period that included secondments in a number of areas, these include:- Distribution/Sub transmission switching, access and practices - Technical Testing- SCADA Development, design and implementation- Power Systems Management

More often then not this included compiling training information and running sessions with education professionals.
