Work with the Customs team to determine and implement best practices and make continuous improvements to our processes to drive efficiencies and cost savings internally and for external customers.

Maintain and improve our Outsourced Calibration Vendors, Calibration tracking system and Calibration Quality documents. Perform or coordinate the calibrations/qualifications in-house. Also, as part of the Quality Assurance team, perform internal auditing of production records and processes, and provide assistance with my strong analytical background for customer technical support requests.

Employ multiple techniques, such as GC/FID, HPLC, GC-Headspace, Karl Fischer, Sulfated Ash and GC-MS to characterize small molecules for use in certified reference materials (CRMs). Develop analytical methods and method validations to support CRM manufacturing.

Initially brought in as a lab technician performing EPA extractions, I earned a position as an Analytical Chemist, eventually learning GC/FID, GC/MS and ICP-MS as well as the sample preparation techniques used to prepare samples for analysis.
