My professional career spanned over 35 years in planning, designing, and managing civil/environmental engineering infrastructure projects throughout the western U.S. in public works and consulting. After retiring from the corporate world, I consulted to over 100 industrial and manufacturing clients to develop, train and implement quality and environmental management systems for 20 years. This work included recertification consulting to organizations operating under ISO 9001, AS9110 and Nadcap Electronics Circuit Assembly and wire and cable harness standards. I performed gap assessments, developed quality managment systems, trained process leaders and performed internal audits. I became a member of Rotary International in 2006 and have served in several positions, including club president and director with the Rotary Club of Millbrae, California. I have led numerous volunteer service projects including clean water and sanitation for rural communities in Ecuador, and local educational, youth services and community development projects. I currently serve on a Technical Advisory Board to my District's Rotary Clubs in the San Francisco Bay Area for Water and Sanitation Rotary grant-funded projects and as an Assistant District Governor through June 30, 2021.My personal interests revolve around playing clarinet and tenor saxophone, advocating carbon-free driving, watching suspense movies, listening to music, enjoying fine wines and restaurants, live theatre, traveling (before Covid-19) in the U.S. and internationally with my wife, daughter, son-in-law and grandson; snow skiing and working on my golf game.
