Upon winning approval from Exeter’s CIO to separate Operational/Analytical reporting (non-SDLC for SOX compliance) from Financially Impacting reporting (SDLC required), designed the infrastructure to support this separation. Authored all policy and procedure documents required. Guided the implementation of the infrastructure, policies and processes. As SDLC separation of duties were part of the new process created, even for non-SDLC reports within the BI group, have a current project to take on deployment/support of Financially Impacting (SDLC) reports. This provides Exeter with the best level of expertise for all BI reports while maintaining SOX compliance. Worked extensively in optimizing current stored procedures to decrease run times. Cut the nightly processing jobs from ~ 4 hours to just over 1 hour. Created SSIS packages to automate routine tasks and provide ways for the business users to import data managed on spreadsheets into the data warehouse to be consumed in reporting. Implemented standards for the BI development staff in naming conventions, processes, development standards and SDLC procedures to provide consistency between development efforts
