Rae C. Email and Phone Number
As a Sociomedical Sciences research fellow at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, I conduct statistical and qualitative analysis on various topics related to healthcare provider stigma, substance use disorder, and the opioid epidemic. I am writing manuscripts for publication based on the findings of an NIH/NIDA national randomized study of physicians and dentists.I hold a BA in Public Health within Ethnicity and Race Studies from Columbia University, where I developed a strong interest in tackling healthcare disparities affecting marginalized communities, such as LGBTQ+, BIPOC, immigrants, and those with substance use backgrounds. I have collaborated with grassroots organizations and local policymakers, gaining experience in social work and public health. I have also been engaged in educational projects, such as creating podcasts and drafting board proposals, and researching anti-racism education in medical training. What truly fuels my passion is the direct interaction with patients. I am deeply committed to enriching the patient-provider relationship and delivering care that is both compassionate and centered around the patient's needs. My ultimate aspiration is to translate this dedication into practice as a future physician.I am currently working in clinical research trials in Neuro-oncology at the Columbia University Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center as a clinical research coordinator.I'm currently seeking collaborations with like-minded individuals who share my vision. Together, we can work towards breaking down barriers and reimagining a more equitable future
