Richard Campbell is a South African film composer, arranger and orchestrator.His scoring credits include the short films Business As Usual (screened on Showmax in collaboration with AFDA), Dark Moon (screened at the 2020 Croatia Film and Music Festival), and the student film A Soul Set Free. He has also scored the theatre production Night of the Iguana, staged in Provincetown, Massachusetts in 2019, and the keynote presentation Breaking Chains by Rusty Labuschagne that has been presented all over South Africa. As a composer of production music, he is currently working on an album for MamaDance Music Solutions in Cape Town, and has released an instrumental EP called Dreams, currently streaming on all major platforms.Richard has worked as an arranger since 2007 and has been sought-after for this skill by local and international clients. He has been involved in musical theatre, acting as Musical Director for productions such as Evita, Annie Get Your Gun, and The Pirates of Penzance, for which he also orchestrated the entire score.Richard's music embraces a harmonic cinematic style, influenced by giants such as Jerry Goldsmith and John Williams, and is designed to speak to the audience's emotional responses and draw them deeper into what they see on stage or screen.
