I was a member of the Customer Project Office positioning scrum team, which was responsible for the customer projects of major mobile phone manufactures such as Samsung, LG, Sony Ericsson and Sagem. My responsibilities include the analysis, implementation and verification of positioning related change requests and errors reports made by the customer.It is my responsibility to maintain the non standard platform logical driver module for the Broadcom Barracuda GPS Chip, which is delivered as a customisation to specific customers. I have provided customer support on-site in Korea and France for the Barracuda driver from the first development stages through to the verification stages. This role required a close working relationship with the different hardware/software teams and with the external Broadcom support engineers, communicating daily to discuss customer issues and improvements to the driver.

I was part of a global software development team delivering real time embedded software solutions for the automotive industry. The software was written in ‘C’ to the MISRA coding standard enforced by the PC-Lint static analysis tool. Our development process met SEI level 3 and followed the full development lifecycle using the V model.I led a small team developing and maintaining the GATS protocol stack and the MOST telematics function block to provide telematics services within the BMW Telematics Control Unit (TCU). The development was achieved using UML and the Model Driven Development tool Rhapsody. I successfully led the development of the new SMS based telematics services (Climate Control, Remote Door Control and Vehicle locator).In this role I was responsible for the on-time delivery of the GATS stack releases to the main application team who had six monthly customer deliverables.In parallel, I was also responsible for the legacy phone book and SMS sub-systems, and the integration of Continental’s new bespoke network access device (NAD) for telematics applications, analysing issues reported by validation team and customer to determine if they are NAD related, then working with the remote development teams to resolve them. In addition, I worked closely with the Change Control Board (CCB) analysing the Change Requests as they are received.I also worked with our remotely based systems engineering team and the customer to ensure we had good clear requirements, allowing robust software design and rigorous test coverage.I added new features to the GATS GUI which was a Windows based application written in C++, used to simulate the GATS stack model behaviour on a PC without the need for the target hardware. I also developed new Windows based tools to decode binary and text SMS PDUs.

I joined the Telematics Communication Group within Motorola on the graduate engineering scheme, I was responsible for analysis, design, development, documentation and subsequent maintenance of key software sub-systems in ‘C’ on a telematics product for BMW, one of the major premium automotive manufacturers.
