Seabed survey and navigation company. Co-Founded in February 2009. Hadal develops deep ocean rated unmanned undersea vehicle (UUV) systems, focusing on technologies that enable large scale seabed survey at high resolution to enable cheaper methods of underwater navigation. Responsible for all aspects of business, including vehicle design, engineering, operations planning,finance, and funding. Worked for the Acoustics Group in the Ocean Systems Division. Transitioned to the Engineering Department in late 2007. Developed the mechanical assembly, software codebase and oversaw field operations and acceptance for the Minimiser Synthetic Aperture Sonar payload system. Developed the Minescout Post Mission Analysis workstation database, integrating with the AST CAD/CAC algorithms for mine classification.

Developed and maintained the software (MOOS - Mission Oriented Operating Suite) for the robotic autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) that we built, maintained, and operated. Team leader on numerous scientific cruises to operate the AUVs on expeditions ranging from underwater Archaeology to Fisheries management. Traveled to Greece, Italy, and other parts of the Mediterranean to run the robots. Design team for the Hovering AUV (HAUV) operated by Bluefin Robotics, Odyssey IV hover-capable deep water inspection vehicle. Sensor development and driver design in C++/Java: sidescan sonar, forward looking sonars, SAS, depth/altitude/velocity sensors.
