Included a REACT-based portal to display status using GIS mapping of tens of thousands of IoT devices with a fully responsive design from mobile to desktop. IoT Edge implementation included command-and-control functionality, rules-processing, service/message bus for high-throughput telemetry data, Cosmos NoSQL database and other systems necessary for a standalone cloud application.California Institute of Regenerative Medicine (CIRM) – Led a technical assessment, including roadmap of client's internal systems, including root cause analysis on severe performance problemsNuWest – Designed and led implementation of infrastructure and DevOps pipelines for a new job search application for the travel nurse industry. Included tight integration with Salesforce TargetRecruit and uses Auth0 as a third party IDP.Virtual, Inc – Designed and implemented an integration between a large-scale multi-tenant Salesforce application and Azure online tenant, including Exchange integrations. Solution is used globally by professional standards organizations such as the IEEE, ISA, PCI SSC, and many others.

Business Intelligence (BI) reporting integrating Redshift, MySQL, SQL Server, SSRS and Tableau. Platform integrates with AWS native stack services.Amazon (Other Business Units) – Provided infrastructure and architectural support for clients implementing SharePoint, K2 blackpearl and related technologies both on-premise and on AWS. Provided project-based services, infrastructure support and architectural guidance and managed services to Amazon, Amazon Legal, Amazon Logistics, and Amazon Web Services since 2012.Safeco / Liberty Mutual – Led Managed Services for Liberty Mutual Insurance as the technical lead over two teams: one for all SharePoint support and another for SQL Server support. Grew the service offering from a small SharePoint 2010 legacy support team to two large teams supporting over 800 servers and dozens of server farms, as well as over 250 high availability SQL Server Clusters. Senior escalation contact for all incidents from both teams. Key accomplishments included significant reduction of major incidents within the first 12 months, from 8 P1 incidents in 2019 to zero in 2020. P2 Major incidents decreased by more than 90% during the same period.

Developed or guided development of a number of business-facing portals using SharePoint and the Microsoft BI stack. Portfolio includes programs valuing over one hundred million dollars.Developed a comprehensive governance plan based on COBIT 4.1, ensuring IT alignment with business. Implemented a major intranet redesign and migration for the Amazon Legal Department.In Amazon Legal, developed an enterprise search solution using SharePoint FAST search that integrates with a number of external LOB systems including document management (iManage), IP docketing (Lecorpio), legal matter management (TeamConnect) and entity management (GEMS). The solution included a custom claims provider that allowed pre-trimming of search results so that users can only retrieve results for content they have access to in the remote system.

Architecture, technical thought leadership and programming for Enterprise and Web Content Management (ECM and WCM) on Documentum, Sitefinity, SharePoint.Technical lead for onshore and offshore developers on many projects. Developed a large corporate intranet, IVWeb, with integration to document management. Developed a new web presence, and later a redesign for Intellectual Ventures’ public facing website which includes integrations with Salesforce, as well as a secure custom video library for external video distribution. Developed a website for TerraPower, an IV spin-off company developing a new type of nuclear reactor. This fast-track project progressed from concept to launch in less than seven weeks.Created numerous web parts, customizations and services for SharePoint, such as a secure video player that allows internal company videos to be hosted externally, delivered globally, and secured with an encrypted URL to secure the video asset. This design provides global secure coverage to the IV Asia Pacific Region offices without loading the company’s trans-pacific private (dark fiber) network connection. Outsourced streaming media services significantly reduced infrastructure costs.Created a number of smaller scale portals on Sitefinity for Intellectual Ventures initiatives.Created LOB applications that utilize workflows and event handlers to manage purchasing, approvals and invoice management, improving overall process flow by an order of magnitude.Architect and technical lead for a new ECMS based on Documentum, beginning with a POC, and followed by a number of releases over the course of more than a year, and migration of millions of items of unstructured content.

Created numerous web sites for direct clients and through partnerships with local design firms.Examples:Microsoft Alumni Foundation – Developed a new website which includes Authorize.net payment processing, and integration with Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online.Dept. of Defense, Joint Special Operations Command – Consulting on collaboration technology for JSOC initiatives.City of Kent – An independent consultant responsible for the analysis, development and implementation of a city-wide intranet for the City of Kent based on SharePoint and supporting over 900 employees. Cities of Kent, Des Moines, Seatac – Under a Washington State grant, created Envision Midway, a portal to aid the long range development planning of the Midway Study Area (the SR-99/Pacific Highway corridor), and to facilitate collaboration between the Cities of Kent and Des Moines, private developers and interested members of the public.Microsoft, ASUS, Key Services – Developed a marketing DVD and an associated web site for Key Services, Inc. as part of a marketing partnership between Microsoft and ASUS for the Eee PC, a low-cost ultra-mobile notebook. Fundbunch.com – Developed a new website with Authorize.net payment processing, and back-end administration to manage donations to individual “fund hubs.” Manages disbursement requests for check processing.Advanced Clinical Software – Developed a web site redesign for StudyManager, the leading ISV for clinical trial management software. The new site was implemented using Sitefinity for content management, and includes extensive integrations with Salesforce, including single sign-on.

Led and managed all aspects of web operations, including programming, support and engineering of the Foundation web site. The site contained over 6,000 pages of content, averaging over one million page views per month, and capable of serving millions of page views per day.Provided guidance on system architecture and technology during a period of extraordinary growth.Led numerous projects and teams in development, operations and support of online communications and Line of Business application integration. Integrated SharePoint Portal Server with MCMS to provide search services, including custom controls to generate specialized pages for search engines, meta-tagging and advanced parametric search functionality. Integrated the foundation website with the Akamai Edge Server network.Developed an Enterprise Forms Management System utilizing InfoPath, Web Services, SharePoint, SQL Server and SQL Server Reporting Services. Developed business requirements, project plan, and technical documentation and wrote all code involved.Developed branding for a SharePoint 2003 installation, and later a redesign and migration to SP 2007.Developed a content management tool used for the Foundation annual report, and CMS based microsites for significant grantees.

Built web applications, tooling and portals for a variety of groups at Microsoft, primarily with MSN, Passport, MSN Mobile and the Internationalization group. Developed MSN Operations portal, the FedWeb portal, dashboards and reporting tools. improvements to data queries in ticketing systems. Developed applications and tools for the MSN Properties Internationalization Group at Microsoft, focusing on localization issues, build automation and reporting

One of two Site Development leads at Lante. Led project teams in the creation of complex web sites and in application development using a variety of tools and technologies. Mentored Site Developers and evangelized XML technologies. Pioneered client-side JavaScript development, using techniques that later became collectively known as AJAX. Led development of many complex CMS implementations, successfully integrating multiple platforms and technologies for clients like Washington Mutual and BioLife Plasma Services (Baxter International).
