Building something new in the fintech / crypto space

I also spearheaded our advocacy initiatives to drive common-sense legislation for the crypto industry. We launched https://www.standwithcrypto.org and mobilized a grassroots movement - recruiting 1M+ advocates, raising $200M, directing 300K+ policymaker contacts that advanced legislation and impacted elections.

My mandate was to build onramps to bring users “onchain”. To accomplish that I led a number of product teams, including: 1) the foundational technology, including our integrated wallet, browser, and indexers; 2) our first-party decentralized experiences in the Retail surface, including DEX, DeFi, Social, and NFTs; and 3) integrations with third-party ecosystem partners, and showcasing parters in our "app marketplace". My teams also spearheaded industry-leading technologies, such as smart wallets, "magic spend", and even the initial GTM efforts for BASE ("Onchain Summer").

After transitioning Kormo, and its team, into the larger Google organization, I returned to the incubator as a "Founder In Residence", to conceive and launch another venture. I developed the concept, and pitched to leadership to secure funding, then recruited and led a cross-functional team focused on enabling creators. We developed and scaled a revenue generating venture in record time, secured follow-on funding based on achieving milestones ahead of schedule, and eventually merged the tech into other Google entities.

I joined Google's Area 120 (workshop for experimental products), and helped create “Kormo”, a marketplace focused on helping early-career job seekers, in emerging markets, find work. I oversaw the product & engineering functions through to initial launch, and then national expansion in Bangladesh, Indonesia, and India. In the first 12 months post national launch in India, we delivered 2M+ jobs. We ultimately “graduated” from the incubator & transitioned the venture to be part of the Payments / Next Billion Users Product Area.

Startup Executive (2011 - 2017)* Sittercity: Led company turnaround by restructuring strategy, technology, and team, toward achieving profitability and acquisition (NYSE:BFAM).* Nanigans: One of first employees at a performance ad-tech startup, developed core product and scaled portfolio, team, and operations to handle $1B+ in annual ad spend, leading to acquisition (NYSE:CXM).Co-Founder (2000 - 2011) * Visible Measures: Led product development of a 200-person, venture-backed video metrics platform and ad network. Served top brand marketers, agencies, media, and technology companies, resulting in acquisition (TSX:AT).* WiseUncle: Created an AI-powered decision assistant to increase conversion on complex consumer purchases, using leading research in behavioral science combined with proprietary neural networks and genetic algorithms

Lime Design was a consumer product / service design firm that provided consulting services to companies looking to develop innovation processes, or commercialize new technologies.Along the way, we also developed our own intellectual property and commercialized it in its own spin-off venture, Lime Tree Cove. This venture was a lifestyle brand that developed innovative barware products, namely The Barmaid - the world's first handheld drink rimming device. We developed the tech ourselves and patented it, and then commercialized it successfully — going all the way from prototyping, to manufacturing, to supplying major brands, like Bacardi.
