Richard Delgado is an entrepreneur, investor, and advisor who partners with early-stage companies to bring innovative ideas and technologies to market. As the Managing Partner of Vanguard Healthcare Solutions and Vanguard Venture Group, Richard oversees the investment selection, capital formation, and go-to-market strategies for a portfolio of companies and investments in the healthcare sectors.Prior to these roles, Richard was a Global Director for American Express, where he was responsible for international business development with the company's largest commercial clients. During his tenure, he managed new product development, data analytics consulting, and international sales & marketing programs. Additionally, Richard has led diverse global finance, supply chain, manufacturing, and operational consulting engagements with some of the world's leading companies, including AT&T, ExxonMobil, Ericsson, CEMEX, Owens Corning, and Celanese. Richard is an innovative business leader with experience in go-to-market strategy, M&A, operational transformation, turnarounds/restructuring, complex commercial negotiation, and private equity transactions. Richard holds a BA in Political Science from Swarthmore College and an MBA in International Marketing from Southern Methodist University's Cox School of Business and ESADE Business School. Richard was also a fellow in Organizational Development & Change Management at Johns Hopkins University. Richard resides in Dallas, Texas, where he is active in several community and non-profit organizations.
