Inventor of revolutionary mobile payments solutions for the emerging smartphone industry.• Invented and developed extensive intellectual property of a mobile payment solution utilizing QR codes. Solution required minimal enhancement to point-of-sale (POS) system and did not require customer credit card information to be stored on device.• Invention led to foundational patent being granted that is still required for Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay. QR code process is still the leading mobile payment method worldwide.• Led design and development of production solution, Firethorn Pāi™ on Blackberry, iPhone and Android devices.• Invented and led development of mobile stored value solution for iPhone and Android devices, enabling mobile purchase, transference, replenishment, and usage of branded gift cards across multiple retailers.• Assisted business development in bringing Firethorn SWAGG™ stored value platform to fast-food chains (Subway, Burger King trials) gas station retailers (BP, Shell, Marathon), and fashion retailers (Levi’s, Gap).• The SWAGG™ mobile wallet app was honored as “Most Innovative Prepaid Program” at the 2011 Paybefore Awards.

2006 : ENTERPRISE WEB ARCHITECTURE - Led product management of enterprise-wide and infrastructural projects including a consolidated identity management solution for both internal and external merchant access to the company’s web-based product lines, a ‘white-labeled’ gift card balance system allowing merchants a custom-branded experience for their customers, and a fully-automated online merchant boarding application. Also established a 5-year Merchant Portal vision plan outlining a series of ten portal experiences fed and managed by a common Merchant Master data repository and Transactional Data Warehouse. Three of these portal projects were in development along with the data repository at the time of my leaving.2004 : RETAIL REPORTING - Led the group as the usability expert designing the customer experience for mid-market and national merchant reporting products. Acted in liaison role between Product Management and Technology translating business requirements into technical specifications. Responsibilities also included analyzing and optimizing database schema for the storage and retrieval of merchant and transactional data.2001 : EBUSINESS - Led the design of all Paymentech’s customer-facing web products. This included the layout and navigation of the public website, the design of an integrated transactional reporting/research solution for ecommerce-based merchants, and the design and development of a universal user administration system.

Joined USWeb/CKS as Senior Information Architect over financial services engagements. USWeb/CKS was the largest web consultancy firm in the world with over 10,000 employees; Atlanta being the third largest office. With the collapse of the dot-com bubble, recently renamed marchFIRST Atlanta, was closed and liquidated in April of 2001.2000 : BALZAM.NO - Recruited by the Oslo, Norway office for my experience in Unified Modeling Language and usability expertise to assist in the creation of an employee assistance bartering site where companies could increase productivity of their employees by managing their personal obligations such as daycare, automobile maintenance, housekeeping and shopping.1999 : MUNICIPALTRADE.COM - Worked directly with the founder and owners of this start-up company to create the charter and business requirements of the first real-time municipal bond auction site. Intense design, analysis and documentation followed by the development of a fully-functional prototype solution resulted in successfully obtaining second round funding.

Recruited as project manager and interface design/developer for long-term consulting engagement with AGL Resources (parent company of Atlanta Gas Light). Projects included a fleet management intranet, a conference room/equipment reservations system, and a third-party proposal submission extranet.

Sought after to produce computationally-accurate computer illustrations for the lighting design of world renowned buildings. Key projects included: Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, Palace Hotel in Madrid, Cleveland Browns Stadium, and 150 California Street, San Francisco.

Developed computer-based models and photo-realistic renderings of 40+ architectural projects ranging from commercial mixed-office, convention centers, schools, prisons, distribution centers and processing plants. Developed CD-based multimedia brochure of Erskine College including interactive walking tour, photo gallery and virtual museum. Co-designed award winning West Cobb YMCA in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Hired as lead designer and illustrator for interface design of Architex, the preeminent architectural design add-on to Bentley Systems’ MicroStation CAD solution. IdeaGrafix and the Architex solution was acquired by Bentley Systems in 1995 and integrated into the core MicroStation product.Instructed continuing education and technical classes in AutoCAD, MicroStation, AutoLISP, 3D Studio, and Visual Basic.1992 AUTODESK UNIVERSITY – Asked to lead several training sessions during the 3-day event including an advanced course on 3D Studio IPAS add-on technology.1991 AUTODESK EDUCATION – Became one of only 100 national “Train the Trainers”.
