After a career in technology from large companies to startups, leading development to leading organizations I decided to build a family passion business, a world-class rock climbing gym in Greenville, SC. My experiences in organizational design, business planning, and leadership gave me a great foundation for building not only a business but a community. True product innovation requires processes of divergent and convergent ideation found in Design Thinking. These processes open up the kinds of group problem solving and insights that lead to amazing solutions.As a technology advisor, CTO, Product Development leader, or a Cloud or Agile Consultant, my focus has been the same: understand the business needs first, then start looking for the best solution. Solutions are made up of people, processes, and tools. I've built teams locally, onshore, nearshore, and offshore to get the job done within timeframe and budget constraints. I have been using Agile practices since 2006, Scrum since before the first certification exam was available, and SAFe to scale those practices to larger organizations. The products I ship today are based on AWS cloud native, microservices APIs, with Lambda/Dynamo/RDS databases. My mobile applications have been native on iOS and Android since the first SDKs of each. I've also shipped embedded products that interact with their mobile and cloud apps.
