• Use of DVS Clipster and Doremi Rapid software for encoding and transcoding purposes • Creation of Interop and SMPTE 2D/3D/2K/4K 5.1/7.1/Atmos/Audio Described/Dubbed and Subtitled OV, VF & Combi DCP’s.• Adding of Inserts • Creation of Censor Cut DCP’s including edits and mutes. • Creation of MPEG, H264 and Pro Res QuickTime’s for internal and external use • Use of Adobe Photoshop to create Wallpapers and Burn in’s • Un-Wrapping of encrypted MXF’s in Rapid to convert media in order to check source material, run audio conform checks and check in/out points on audio.• Wrapping of Media in Rapid to create encrypted MXF’s for DCP creation. • Tape ingests• Validation of DCP’s pre QC, • Soft QC of all features pre QC• Preparation of detailed QC reports for Production, QC Operators and Clientele detailing any issues experienced in the mastering processes, things to look out for during the QC etc. • Ingesting of DCP’s to Dolby and Doremi players via FTP• Creation of KDM’s and DKDM’s • Moving of, Restoration and removal of media from the SAN. Chmoding material to remove permission issues. • Remaining in regular communication with Production and other encoders, keeping them aware of any issues or delays and handing over any tasks clearly and thoroughly. • Adhering to all latest DCI procedures, conventions, and security regulations (MPAA & FACT)

Worked alongside the Production and the Editorial Departments to deliver the requests of Staff and Clients in a secure and zero error environment. Tasks included • Client Uploads and Downloads- these are completed using Aspera and Signiant Servers, Aspera P2P, WeTransfer, FTP accounts via a command line and SFTP accounts using FileZilla. I also create FTP and Aspera accounts at the request of Production. • Formatting drives and copying content to them to be sent to other facilities for client use and ingesting incoming material from drives to the SAN for use by MPC Staff. • Working in a heavily command Line based environment on machines running Linux, Macintosh and Windows operating systems• Converting Media via Adobe Media Encoder• Converting, Editing and Uploading Reference Material, Data Capture footage and Session Reviews online to the MPC Hub Viewer for use internally by all MPC Film Staff worldwide. Clips are uploaded through a series of commands created in house by MPC. • QC'ing material at the request of the editorial departments• Burning content to Blu-Ray and DVD's• Checking on the status of uploads and Renders using Tractor Software• Remaining in constant and clear communication with Production team members on upload/download times and offering advice on procedures when required. Responding to there requests promptly and diligently • Working a shift pattern to suit the needs of the company and it's Film Operations around the world alongside 2 other Data I/O London members. It is crucial we assist and communicate with each other to ensure ongoing tasks are handed over clearly and carefully.• Looking after Drives, SD Cards and camera stocks, preparing them for use and making sure they are securely locked away when not required.

Continuing my progression in Digital Cinema at Technicolor I gained many more skills whilst working as a Digital Cinema Mastering Operator - • High standard of knowledge in Digital Cinema and current Digital Cinema Standards. Following work flows and client instruction at all times. Always aware of, and abiding to, all Digital Cinema procedures, conventions, and security regulations (MPAA & FACT) • Strong knowledge of DVS Clipster and Fuze mastering software• Large amount of experience mastering encrypted and unencrypted Digital Cinema Packages - 2D & 3D Film trailers, features, Certs, Policies and short films. • Very experienced in Encoding and Transcoding processes creating Quicktimes, Pro Res and Tiff files from DCP’s, conversions between different framerates and video standards• Knowledge of colourspaces and colour encoding. • Strong knowledge of Linux, Mac and Windows operating systems – this includes using Linux command lines for data entry and interoperability between the three systems• Very experienced in Data I/O tasks including creating and distributing Copymaster drives and Ingesting material from Linux, Mac and Windows formatted hard drives. Management of data across the SAN, and conducting Aspera transfers to facilities around the UK and the world. • Experience in KDM management and distribution• Confident conversing professionally and concisely with clients regarding their projects• Experience in scheduling the Mastering, QC and Distribution departments when required• Always prepared to go above and beyond, happy to work alone or as a team• Always eager to learn more and to teach others

My second role at Technicolor, it required - • Comprehensive technical quality checks of 2D, 3D, HFR, Dolby Atmos and DBOX Digital Cinema packages working within a fast-paced and zero-error environment• Operation of Digital Cinema playback servers and digital projectors, and an understanding of FTP technologies• QC'ing final OV release DCP's for high profile world renowned distributors and in house DI projects.• Conducting full tech QC's, Seam and Spot check's of flattened packages and Version File DCP’s for subtitle and dub audio distribution versions• Compiling in depth QC reports for internal and external use• Remaining in constant communication with Mastering Operators and Producers and ensuring all issues are communicated to the correct people as quickly and concisely as possible• KDM management creating keys for use in house and worldwide and approving CPL's on key management systems• Conducting client attended QC’s remaining professional, clear and concise at all times. • Maintaining a cooperative, enthusiastic and positive attitude to the work and the team and always willing to go the extra mile and to teach future QC operators. • Strong time management and self motivation, sticking to schedules and tight deadlines• Willingness to work flexible/extended hours and at different facilities when requested.

A valuable rite of passage, I gained a fantastic insight into the post production industry and the working world whilst working as a runner. The job involved being part of a three person team splitting time between tending to the needs of high profile clients and staff, remaining professional and welcoming at all times and delivering and collecting important content from other facilities in Soho and Greater London. In order to meet client requests I became a trained barista and became experienced in using Coffee Machines and making many different types of hot drinks. I was trusted with looking after petty cash and filling in billing receipts when charging client food orders to accounts. I was trained in the use of Scheduall software in order to monitor where the clients would be based throughout the day and was entrusted with covering reception using the switchboard dealing with multiple calls and enquiries. The job gave me a great opportunity to learn the work flows of the building and opportunities to shadow and cover other employees. I spent time working in the Despatch department scanning content into the system, and some time in the Machine room beginning to learn how the IO department worked. I also spent some time covering employees in the restoration department film cleaning when it was busy. In my last couple of months as a runner I began to be trusted QC'ing DCP's during weekends and evenings before eventually leaving my Runner position to carry on doing it full time.
