I am currently a sophomore at North Carolina State University perusing my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, with a plan to transfer into the Psychology program. I plan to attend graduate school to obtain my masters or doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy. I intend to own and operate an occupational therapy clinic in the future. I have experience working with the intellectually and developmentally disabled population in a variety of settings. I am currently working as a Direct Support Professional through the Autism Society of North Carolina. Along with completing an internship with a self contained classroom, and serving as a camp GRACE counselor at the YMCA. My experience and knowledge have provided the reassurance to know this field is where my passion lies. I have a genuine thirst for learning and I intend to take any opportunity I can to further advance my career in the IDD field. I am extremely goal-oriented, organized, and effective when it comes to task management. I can easily adapt in fit into a multitude of roles when given the opportunity. I believe that I lead groups efficiently, passionately and with purpose. I am always seeking a challenge when it comes to my academics and career.
