[DUE TO MY HEAT STROKE / STROKES, I NOW READ AND WRITE AT A FIRST-GRADE LEVEL OR LESS.]Heat Stroke & Stroke Survivor 🚑🌍I experienced very bad headaches for a long time and could not find a cure. In May of 2018, I was experiencing headaches and blurry vision. I attended a concert (morning, afternoon, evening… hot, hot, and hot… above 103 degrees) and suffered a HEAT STROKE. The following week my headaches and blurry vision got worse. I suffered three strokes that week and ended up in the hospital for 48 days. I spent 4 years in physical, occupational and speech therapy. I do struggle with aphasia, but I do everything I can to improve every day, including daily exercise and healthy eating! My parents were such a great example to me. They came to this country from India with only $14 in their pockets and a five-month-old baby girl. I was that baby girl! Due to their example, I went to college and got my MBA from John Hopkins University. I worked at GTE Corporation, IBM/Janus Consulting, and then as a VP for i3solutions. I was always ambitious and was about to begin my PhD studies. My father (an Industrial Arts Instructor) and my mother (an RN) came to this country in 1966. My father got a degree in Mechanical Engineering from IIT and worked as an engineer and inventor for the Whirlpool Corporation. He had several US and international patents. One of his early inventions was the rotating turntable for the microwave! I am also very proud of my father for inventing and designing a dishwasher for space in 1985. This dishwasher is unique, since it must work in zero gravity. It was installed in the International Space Station where the astronauts could use it.We hear about heat stroke awareness on TV and the radio. They tell us how to recognize when someone is “having a heat stroke" but not about the "warning signs". I suffered a “HEAT STROKE” while at an outdoor event just days before I suffered the strokes.
