Real Axe officially opened its doors in October to budding Vikings and BBQ lovers from all over the North West.As if offering an indoor urban axe throwing experience wasn’t exciting enough, I searched high and low for an experienced smokehouse pitmaster and 2 large wood burning USA smokers. Our authentic smokehouse BBQ really brings the taste of the USA into Bolton.The venue is over 7500 with 4 huge double axe throwing lanes and seating for over 200 making us a great location for small and large private and corporate hospitality events and parties.

Designing and managing the development of the ‘Big Fleet’ Low cost – high value tracking system. Our aim is to ensure any fleet regardless of size of functionality can afford a genuine professionally developed tracking solution.

My main role is systems analyst - main duties being the identifying of business need in the fleet industry, whilst designing and implementing web based tracking solutions to address the industry needs, and managing the development cycle.

I have 7 years experience in the provision of bespoke vehicle tracking applications. Between 2003 and 2009 I owned a million pound vehicle tracking company. The largest single contract was a multi million pound, multi tier Citrix based GPS fleet management system incorporating the development of a hand held mobile work force solution to run alongside the vehicle tracking / fleet management systems.In my time running the company I noticed the super size fleet operators were nervous about using tracking companies, due to the lack of control, and the costs. In an attempt to address these issues, in 2009 I set up the consultancy Tracking By Design in which my sole aim is to assist and train large fleet operators in the development of their own vehicle tracking solution. A solution which the fleet operator owns.In all cases below the companies will benefit hugely by developing their own vehicle tracking solution using my guidance, knowledge and industry expertise. In the cases where the solution is to be sold as an additional product or service there is the obvious benefit of creating a new revenue stream, which if they partnered with a tracking company would be dramatically reduced. Other advantages of system ownership are full control over the development using your own developers, and the organic growth of the solution. The system will never be switched off, which in the event of a tracking company ceasing trading, would happen. As the founder of the vehicle tracking development company, I took the role of MD. After a few years of running every aspect and growing the company. I recognized my main skills in the selling and designing of bespoke vehicle tracking solutions were being underutilized, because of this, I recruited a MD to run the administrative side of the vehicle tracking company and focused my attentions on where my skills were best suited. My biggest achievements were selling bespoke vehicle tracking solutions to a number of local governments ranging from £50k – just under £1m. I also sold, designed, and managed a massive project worth over £3m over a period of years for a bespoke vehicle tracking solution and mobile delivery management system, to one of the UK’s biggest building products distributors.
