Responsibilities:Advising business on the direction to take the CMS in following a failing partners site. Architecting the solutions for creation of CMS driven portal, removing it from a delivery partner’s domain. The technical authority on all things portal with my responsibility ranging from adding solution technical detail to tasks (this included: multiple third party’s integrations, technical user flows and creation of data contracts between our portal and service layer). Enforcing the governance of the solution and the standards adhered to by Rank. Key Achievements:My experience has enabled Rank to decide how to present customer journeys rather than rely on how the wallet provider believe they should be achieved.Convinced the business to take on a modular based CMS – Expected result will enable white label sites within a 3-week period. Obtained working knowledge of partner’s platform to the extent where I am now SME and handing over that knowledge to others.

During my time as a Technical lead I have was responsible for the governance of a multiple offshore third party development teams who work on a mixture of large and small projects as well as the business as usual pieces. I drove BAU improvements in the quality of staff and the processes which we used to ensure developed code made it to live servers in a streamlined manor. Lead the development and solution creation for the responsive and adaptive Meccabingo site which is Rank’s highest transactional site. Working with the Product owner to take high level epics detailing them out further and breaking them down into deliverable stories. The technical solutions I created were mapped out and successfully portrayed to a new development team based in Ukraine. I have worked closely with the environment teams to give input on the best methods of dealing with the increase in traffic which included advice on VM set up and assistance with replication strategies.

In the September of 2010 I was brought on to a project failing with 2 other developers which was centered on registration. With the new team we created a membership system which was once code base which worked cross brand (with differing views per brand), cross devices and allows A/B testing.At this stage I had taken on the role as scrum master of the BAU team which entailed taking on mentoring the teams junior developer which I found rewarding. The work involved adding new game providers into the sites, integrating with third party API’s and creating bespoke stake dependent raffle promotions.The latter stage of this period I took a technical leadership of a third party set of developers who were tasked with porting the Meccabingo and Grosvenor sites in to an Umbraco cms and an improved games management system. This was developed on spec and on time.

This role started with giving new members of staff directions on existing systems and approach on small projects as well as creating Games management systems. At this time the direction of what technologies was changed from Linux to windows systems. While we had tight deadlines to deliver the Bluesquare games pages I up skilled, using .NET web forms while hitting our deadlines. The porting of the entire Meccabingo site from soon followed which included several wcf services. These services integrated with third party API’s, MSSQL and Informix DB’s.Prior to the switch I was a responsible for technically specifying the Games Management system which is still used by Grosvenor casinos.

My first role at Bluesquare (now known as Rank Group) involved me being responsible for the performance changes of the betting odds feeds which were consumed by odds comparison sites, club registration pages (Meccabingo) and live betting pages as well as bespoke promotion competitions. The skills I used during this period were PHP, MYSQL, Javascript and CSS.

My time at Si works was an introduction into a commercial environment. My responsibilities were to maintain existing sites and creating new sites using a custom built base property management system.
