* Oversee consultant activities on Local Bicycle and Pedestrian Planning Assistance Studies. Past studies include pedestrian and bicycle crash analyses to identify the highest risk locations in New Jersey, in an effort to prioritize allocation of bike/ped facilities. I ensure that all task items are completed to satisfaction, and the project schedule and budget are adhered to.* Review engineering drawings/plans for state projects and provide design input on bicycle and pedestrian accommodations.* Attend various task force meetings related to bicycle and pedestrian safety and/or access (Safety Impact Team, Road Safety Audits, Community Partnering Teams, Webinars).* Lead task groups for the New Jersey Strategic Highway Safety Plan. Task groups are composed of individuals from the DOT, MPOs, private consulting firms, and personnel from other various state and local agencies. Completed tasks include development of protocol to initiate a non-motorized count program for the state of NJ.* Prepare reports, position papers and correspondence pertaining to bicycle/pedestrian activities and issues. This includes Problem Statements for high-risk locations, based on bicycle/pedestrian crashes. These proposals are written to initiate projects intended to improve safety for bicyclists and pedestrians at a particular location.

* Attended project field visits, core group/scope team meetings, and public information meetings to gather insight on bicycle/pedestrian-related deficiencies within a specified road segment or intersection. Thereafter, I developed bicycle/pedestrian technical input to address these issues. This input is provided to the construction project manager to be included in the concept development report and evaluated in the preliminary engineering phase.* Collaborated with other DOT units and outside agencies (MPOs, NJTRANSIT, Port Authority, etc) to ensure that pedestrian-related engineering and design issues are addressed in the preliminary phases of a project.* Reviewed scope of work documents and budget requests from consultants to initiate task order processing.

Assisted in reviewing floor plans. Surveyed floors and recorded changes. Updated drawing plans with recent architectural changes using CAFM, Archbus or AutoCAD. Performed other duties as required.

Assisted with field inspections and task verification at the Second Avenue Subway Line 63rd street & 3rd avenue station. At the office, maintained and organized contract files and referenced contract specifications, drawings, and building codes as needed. Track connection to the 63rd street and Broadway lines allow direct service from East Harlem and the Upper East Side to West Midtown.

Provided assistance to physics Teaching Assistants in the classroom by grading worksheets and answering student inquiries. Also provided supplementary instruction outside of the classroom to college physics students, in weekly 80-minute study group sessions. Prior to each study group, prepared activities and comprehensive worksheets for students enrolled.

Assisted a civil engineering research group in the investigation of microbial pollution during wet weather flow. The ultimate goal of the research is to identify effective wastewater treatment options. Wastewater samples were collected at various combined sewer overflow sites in New Jersey. At the lab, conducted DNA extraction on samples and performed qPCR analysis on DNA.

Worked with CAIT's Transportation Safety Resource Center to investigate and identify errors within existing crash reports. Identified systemic errors and checked for inconsistencies and duplicate reporting. Categorized crashes in an excel spreadsheet.
