What seems like a lifetime ago, I was an Elementary School Teacher. After 8 wonderful years working with children, I knew it was time for something new - hence the career change to Power BI Developer. While I still use many of the same skills across careers such as being incredibly collaborative, detail-oriented, and data-driven, I've obtained many new skills while learning Power BI. Now I'm the one creating the data model and visualizations, not just consuming them for analysis. I've had to learn how to develop an optimized and efficient model through utilizing ETL and DAX. My biggest accomplishment so far in my new career has been obtaining my Microsoft PL-300 certification in 11 weeks of learning Power BI. A feat not for the faint of heart!
