My experience in the creative industry began as a pack-mule, young and eager to learn anything about the creative industry, for a local portrait photographer. I enjoyed helping her fulfill her creative vision and be a part of making art that was allowing the subject to feel exceptional, even if I was simply holding the skrim and fixing stray hairs and smudged lipstick. I enjoyed the attention to detail that the untrained eye usually missed. From there I began to learn more and branch out into other realms of production. In college I joined Loyola’s production company as the social media content coordinator and the time I spent working behind the scenes quickly became my opportunity to expand my knowledge in video and recording. I began working closely with the team of producers and editors and began honing my skills in working not only with the equipment, but with the people looking to produce shows. Eventually, I was promoted to being the president of the company, which has allowed me to strengthen my communication skills and production knowledge as well as taking responsibility and showing confidence as a leader to a team of skilled individuals. Scheduling and taking pride in my abilities have been where I have grown the most in the past year because of this role. I enjoy teaching and working with fellow creatives and being a bridge for those with creative sparks to be able to ignite.
