    Northumberland, England, United Kingdom
Director and co-founder of one of the biggest events in the North East. Established in 2015; the festival attracts in excess of 6000 visitors across a two day show. As one of the directors and main organisers there isn’t much that I don’t see come across my desk. From marketing to event logistics, content creation to building stakeholder partnerships. I oversee all marketing aspects of the festival, from strategic brand development to event delivery. I have successfully established a strong social media following and implemented a creative marketing plan that generates great media coverage. I create all of the website, leaflet and show programme content, and manage e-marketing and newsletter creation, including maintaining blog posts. I work closely with a range of stakeholders including sponsors, charities and supporters to create campaigns across multiple platforms. The North East Dog Festival is a family run, ground up, success story that I’m very proud to put my name on and we are always looking to connect with businesses that want to be part of something great through sponsorship and partnerships.

  • Raven River Dog Training
    Owner/ Dog Trainer
Raven River Dog Training Oct 2010 - Present
    Northumberland, England, United Kingdom
Raven River Agility was developed from my passion for the sport of dog agility and the dogs I currently own and train. During my time as a member of the Young Kennel Club I qualified and competed at Crufts in 2011, 2012 and 2013, bringing back a 7th and a 4th. In 2009 I won the Shaun McAlpine Outstanding Young Person Award and was shortlisted in 2012. Over several years, alongside a full time job, I built the business from a single class renting a horse arena to one of the most popular dog training facilities in the North East.Unfortunately a 60% rent increase meant my centre closed in April 2022. The centre was home to 5 freelance instructors, 170 weekly clients and an array of classes. Currently I’m training four evenings a week from Kirkley Hall in Ponteland, I project manage all aspects of the business. As director I’m responsible for the day to day administration, social media and business marketing. To ensure the centre is well used I source and book guest trainers and have created a resource that is accessible to many in the area. I’ve created the website with an easy access booking system and also all marketing materials in relation to the business. During the pandemic closure I created an online dog training platform with easy to follow videos for clients. On a weekly basis I instructed around 20 classes and also undertook one to one work. My client base is vast and my communication skills must be tailored to suit the needs of a variety of classes and their dogs. Teaching people to teach their dogs is extremely rewarding. I continually look to improve with CPD across a range of dog related subjects. I’ve trained with some of the best handlers in the country and also attended seminars with some of the worlds best dog trainers and behaviour experts.

  • Alnorthumbria Veterinary Group
    Award Winning Marketing Coordinator
Alnorthumbria Veterinary Group Aug 2013 - Aug 2018
Responsible for all aspects of marketing, design and social media management across farm, equine and small animal divisions. I implemented social media strategies and developed many aspects of their marketing. This included creating website content, working to briefs and also creating brochures, newsletters and point of sale marketing within the surgeries. As each division had unique needs and a different customer base, I had to tailor my content and designs accordingly. Additionally, I managed press-related content and inquiries, wrote articles and provided professional photographs. It was a mix of working from home, in office and out across Northumberland. I dealt with farming communities, pet owners and a range of clientele. The animal divisions were headed by different directors which required a diplomatic approach to ensure everyone felt their needs were being met. As part of my role with Alnorthumbria I was responsible for event management and idea implementation to generate customers and build business to business relationships. In 2014 I won an award for Marketing Campaign of the year where I travelled to London to the Over The Counter ceremony; The judges at the awards said the entry was a "clear winner", and an excellent example of "creativity and innovation at its best” and "the tactics and aims were incredibly clear and the success of the campaign was very impressive, where it has generated some remarkable results." "Alnorthumbria has embraced social media and and the internet, which has helped to encourage customer relationships in the local community, which can be continued in future”
