The Jim Utley Foundation is a non-profit 501( c ) 3 named after my younger brother, Jim Utley, who passed away as a result of using methamphetamine. The foundation helps guide teens and parents dealing with some of today's most complex drug and alcohol issues. I have lobbied in Austin for new bills proposed to protect those who call 911 during a drug overdose situation. I have also brought a powerful documentary of the drug situation in Orange County, California, to North Texas to the public. Annual JUF fundraisers like Rock The Block, 10K, 5K & Fun Run and the Club Corp Charity Classic have become staples in the community calendar with attendance growing each year. Supporters have included: Rent-a-Center, Staples, Kroger, Mercedes-Benz of Plano, Precision Document Solutions, Audi, Legacy Texas Bank, CiCi's Pizza, Panera Bread, Market Street and others. I personally handle all special events and general foundation marketing. Our foundation is a partner with the Dallas area coalition to help prevent drug abuse.

THE POINT GROUP – Full Service Marketing Firm. I headed up social media efforts for clients, completed proposals and presentations, helped secure new accounts and expanded existing business - Handled both B2B and B2C client work. I was partly responsible for landing the Boston’s Pizza digital account and the Baylor Scott & White website project. I also created PowerPoint presentations for real estate accounts as well as conducted interview, trademark and online research. Finally, I gave internal sales training presentations to Point Group employees and helped design the new TPG website and intranet.

STAR COMPANIES (Starpower, Starfloors, Star Interior Resources, Ed Kellum & Son) I directed all marketing efforts and controlled a $2 million marketing budget (Starpower and Ed Kellum & Son) in two markets (Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas & Phoenix/Scottsdale, Arizona): Digital (Website, Online Advertising, Eblasts, Social Media, SEO, Online Reviews), Print, Outdoor, Television, Radio, Photography, Collateral, In-store POP, Special Events and Public Relations. I personally handled all communications from cradle to grave and dealt directly with companies like Sony, The Dallas Cowboys, Samsung, Sonos, Thermador and others. I served as a ghostwriter for the CEO writing articles for publication in print and online as well as blog posts and press releases.

I created all print and digital communication, including social media, handled PR and directed photography. I built a new website for sister company, Victory Lighting Services. I personally created new brochures, including a corporate identity piece. In addition, I posted employment ads, interviewed candidates and hired personnel.

Examination Management Services, Inc. I provided marketing and public relations direction and execution for a multi-million dollar company working in the paramedical, occupational health and international claims investigation industries. In addition to traditional marketing services, I coordinated all national manager’s meetings, including negotiating with caterers, hotels and other venues, I also was responsible for all special event planning and execution as well as selecting client and employee rewards/gifts. I handled all marketing including print, electronic, conventions/special events, press release writing and distribution and more. I wrote and published the corporate newsletter. While the company was for sale, I repositioned the company as a technology leader in its industry. When EMSI sold, I was given a bonus.
