I am a bubbly second-year BA (Hons) Business Management Student at Manchester Metropolitan University. I have a passion for project management, and I am actively seeking placement opportunities in this field or similar. From a placement year, I hope to gain hands-on experience, put theory to practice, and develop my skills/expertise to prepare me for a graduate role.Several years of work in the hospitality sector has proved that I thrive in a dynamic environment and love to deliver unparalleled service. From waitressing in both a boutique coffee shop and a wine bar to working as a barista on cantering vans, I have always prided myself on serving high-quality products/services and ensuring customers leave with a smile. Currently, I work as a team member at Tesco family café alongside my studies, allowing my time management skills to flourish.Meanwhile, participating in the Young Enterprise scheme gave me a taste at setting up my own business. I took on multiple roles during this process and had to rely on and develop several different strengths. I showed innovation and problem-solving skills when thinking of creative ways to promote and sell our homemade vegan-friendly and sustainable candles. Likewise, I developed the skill of ‘spotlight’ when I pitched the business to stakeholders, other local businesses, and a panel of judges. Finally, when conflict arose, I utilised my skill of mediation to solve group conflict. A major achievement from this experience was when we were rewarded for our teamwork. As part of the volunteering aspect for the DoE, I took on the challenge of running a weekly junior session at my local tennis club. This allowed me to build upon my “unrealised” strength of innovation when having to think up exciting games to keep everyone engaged, but it also gave me the opportunity to showcase my public speaking skills, in promoting my sessions at a couple of social evenings.

Team MemberTesco Family Cafe Nov 2023 - PresentManchester, England, United KingdomWhilst at University, I started working part-time in the cafe at a nearby Tesco Extra. My role here is Team Member and I carry out a variety of tasks every shift. These tasks include; ensuring the front of house is presentable at all times by efficiently clearing tables; delivering food to customers with a smile; taking payments at the till; making beautiful and delicious drinks for customers and ensuring my section is always clean and presentable.By working in a variety of roles, this has helped me develop a range of skills. A key skill used in every section of the cafe is problem-solving; this could be solving an issue for a customer to finding the quickest process for pot washing during our busiest periods. I have also found communication to be key such as ensuring any food requirements are passed onto the kitchen to prevent issues later down the line and checking in on customers to make sure they are happy with their food/ service. -

Due to working in a tight-knit team, teamwork, organisation and time management were all essential skills.
