I was in a Manager Trainee Position for Murphy Brown LLC a subsidiary of Smithfield Foods. I trained on a 3900 Commercial Sow Farm and was certified in both farrowing and breeding departments. I've supervised both a Breeding and Farrowing Multiplication Departments with 2400 and 1200 sows, respectively. Also, I trained on EMS, BMS, IPS protocols, feed orders, checking inventory, supply orders,maintenance, PigKnows, manager paperwork, etc.

I assisted with all areas of swine production from Farrow-to-Finish. I used my knowledge of phenotype and genotype to select purebred boars to breed to superior Yorkshire females for the purpose of exhibition at various national, state and local fairs and sold for other youths projects. I implemented my own nutrition plan while feeding hogs for livestock shows.

I recorded purebred pedigrees into the registry database. I assisted with genetic programs DNA databases and the STAGES data entry. Also, helped with hog show facilitation (checked pedigrees, processed entries, and NJSA activities).
