In this role, I have a strategic focus in creating and disseminating content for the University of Derby Online. A key focus of this role is to standardise the company approach to social and communicate this both internally and externally to customers, colleagues and stakeholders. This role also requires creative thinking and content creation on a daily basis in the form of videos, infographics, blogs, social media posts and web content.

Working at the University of Derby I am responsible for managing and developing content and strategy for a range of the University's main platforms including the social media accounts, blog and website. I take a strategic focus in creating content whilst working to train and advise colleagues from across the University in using these platforms. I am also responsible for the coordination of the digital aspects of open events held by the University, handling the data, the booking system, the equipment set up and over seeing the social communications for each event. In addition to this I work as an editor for the University blog and support the management of website content. This role gives me extensive experience in social media, CRM systems and CMS Systems management. As a leader of a team of students, I have experience in team leadership through this role. Regular content development gives me strong experience in writing, editing and proofing copy, as well as creatively thinking and working in innovative ways while regular evaluation of campaigns and insights reporting allows me to take a targeted approach.

As General Features writer for Unsorry Magazine I write regular, opinion-based articles focused on current news, trends and popular culture. This role enables me to maintain experience in writing on a regular basis to deadlines. It gives me the perfect opportunity to stretch and develop my writing skills. This was an unpaid role.
