In this position at Amanda Wakeley within Harvey Nichols, I re-merchandised the shop floor in line with calendar events of the year to maximise the opportunity of sales. I alerted our clientele on upcoming sales events and promotions to drive footfall into the store. I completed daily/weekly figures to respond back to head office on our performance as well as giving report feedback on stock, competitors and promotions via reporting and conference calls. When the concession has recruited a new member of the team, I also was involved in supporting induction and the day to day training of staff. There was a period where I was running the concession in my managers absence and I liaised with agencies to organise temporary staff to ensure the department was always covered and completed rota’s.

I worked for the Jacques vert Group within House of Fraser and in this customer facing role, I was involved in visual merchandising to promote new lines and the brand. I assisted in the training and development of new colleagues. I processed telephone sales and enquiries for the stock that was sold in store. I also processed transactions and recorded weekly figures and feedback on performance to be forwarded to the Area Manager. This role also brought responsibility as I had managed the floor when there were staff shortages and used initiative to deal with customer enquiries

I worked on press releases for established clients as well as updating lists of clients on Holyrood and their clients Twitter accounts – in particular Warners Solicitors and Estate Agents. I also starred in the HPR TV recommendations segment. I also would research and update their database of print and online magazine contacts along with once a press release deal had been secured seeing all the forms of print and online articles that had the article present

I was involved in compiling stock reports and giving feedback on how new lines have done in store, visual merchandising of stock, processing price changes within the promotional and seasonal sales when appropriate as well as promoting the stock to meet sales targets. I was also responsible for the quality of products and services provided to customers.

At Wallis, I gave advice and guidance on product selection to customers, answering queries from customers, keeping up to date with special promotions and putting up displays, processing card and cash payments and I was involved in stock control and management. As I have been working in this store, it had given me a comprehensive understanding of retail sales as well as knowledge of inventory techniques to aid in achieving sales targets.

I worked as a stylist over the busy festive period where I was advising customers on the products and benefits of purchasing and using Jo Malone products. I enjoyed interaction with the customers and was able to use the platform of giving them hand and arm massage to help sell the products as well as when I was on the boutique floor. I was involved in stock control and replenishment and helped keep the store clean and tidy. I was trained in gift wrapping and product presentation I equally had to present and conduct myself in a professional and friendly manner and perform to consistently high standards at all times to conform with the image of the Jo Malone brand.
