Dr. Rebecca Piotrowski grew up in a military family on Air force bases across Europe and America. She obtained her undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Biology from Syracuse University and worked as a medical researcher, EMT and E.R. technician before attending medical school at Nova Southeastern University. Sponsored by the United States Air Force(USAF), under the Health Professions Scholarship Program, Dr. Piotrowski obtained not only her Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine, but also concurrently achieved her Masters of Public Health, receiving top honors for clinical excellence. She pursued post graduate training in Internal Medicine, completing her internship at David Grant Medical Center, Travis AFB California, where she was selected as Intern of the Year. Dr. Piotrowski's residency training was completed at a joint program through Santa Clara Valley-Stanford University, facilitating a strong background in acute, hospital-based medical practice. Dr. Piotrowski is a combat veteran, having served eleven years as a member of the USAF as an Active Duty Officer, with a tour of duty as one of four physicians supporting the 506 AEG EMEDS, deployed to FOB Warrior in Kirkuk, Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. She then served an additional eleven years in the USAF Reserves, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel in 2022, from her position as the Chief of Professional Services, 927 Aeromedical Staging Squadron/927 Air Refueling Wing, MacDill AFB.
