The reserve also held the Green Flag Award during my time there, which is a highly prestigious award for parks and green spaces, outlining that the site was of exceptional quality and managed to the highest standards. My main responsibilities as the centre manager included orchestrating and running school and scout visits, and so creating educational programmes for students of pre-school, primary and secondary age. My identification skills and knowledge of the flora and fauna of the UK allowed students and staff to learn more about the environment surrounding them.I also organised multiple events to promote the site's biodiversity rich nature, and to give information to the public which increases the community's knowledge of the nature surrounding them. For some larger events of around 1000 participants, I was tasked to arrange volunteers to ensure that our goals were met to a high standard. Budget management was key to the position to ensure that the programme of events was conducted effectively and with finesse.The centre also boasted a busy functional cafe, which I ran and managed along with my other responsibilities. I was the lead administrator for all of the Nature Reserve's social media, promoting events and the site.
