During my time at Orange Avenue School in Cranford I have worked to develop the technology program into a strong, comprehensive and inclusive program. When students graduate 8th grade, they will be familiar with drones, robotics, electrical circuits, CO2 dragster vehicles, laser engraving, coding, computer aided design, bridge building, 3D printing, fuel and air-powered rockets, airfoil design, environmental engineering, and upcycled engineering. I have previously served for two years as a mentor for a new teacher, which included weekly meetings, observations, and reviews. A colleague and I have successfully applied for and received a $10,000 grant to obtain drones for the school’s technology program in 2021, and were recently awarded another $10,000 grant to bring GlowForge laser engravers into our classrooms in 2023. While at Orange Avenue School, I cowrote the Applied Technology curriculum for grades 6th-8th, including an advanced 8th grade Maker’s Design Space elective. I am experienced in working with a large and detailed class budget.Currently, I am serving for my fourth year as an advisor for an award winning Student Council. During the 2023-2024 we have received two awards from the New Jersey Association of Student Councils: The Top Ten Project Award, and the Smiles Project Award.My first year at Orange Avenue School was spent teaching computer science (block based coding, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Python).

I previously taught at Saint James School in Woodbridge. While at Saint James, I served primarily as the middle school Social Studies teacher and as the PreK-8th grade Computer Science teacher. I also served two years as an English Language Arts teacher, as well as a Religion teacher.In 2018, I was honored to receive the Teacher of the Year award.During my time at Saint James I worked with a partner to present a workshop titled "Classrooms Without Walls" at a conference on how to bring real world connections into the classroom, including the importance of bringing in professionals from the field to speak with students.I brought STEM into the social studies classroom by incorporating an engineering project into each of my units. For example, when studying ancient India, students researched and built their own irrigation systems. When studying ancient Greece, students researched and built catapults. I developed and managed a large middle-school wide event called the History Wax Museum in which students became an historical figure. Students completed a research project, picked out clothes/accessories, and memorized and delivered a one minute speech as their historical figure to spectators. This event became very popular and drew in large crowds, the mayor, and the local newspaper each year. Students looked forward to this event and it was a great opportunity for them to learn proper research, writing, and public speaking.

While at Lester C. Noecker School in Roseland, NJ, I served as an aide for two students in 6th grade. I also started the Sign Language Club for 6th graders while there.

At ECYC I worked as a Primary Teacher in the Infants Room.
