Senior Manager for Victim Support in Surrey and Sussex. Responsible for the Witness Service and Young Witness Service in Sussex. Giving evidence in Court can be a very stressful and worrying time. The Witness Service operates in every criminal court in England and Wales, there to support all victims and witnesses of crimes, through the court process, including young witnesses and those who are vulnerable and intimidated. The support is available before, during and after trial. Victim Support is an independent charity for victims and witnesses of crime. Set up 40 years ago in 1974, the charity now employs around 1,500 staff but is built around the team of some 5,600 volunteers, who do much of the direct support of victims and witnesses. Without them we couldn't do all of the positive work we do.

Victim Support is national charity giving free and confidential help to victims of crime, witnesses, their family, friends and anyone else affected. They are a national voice for victims and witnesses and campaign for change. Victim Support have offices throughout England and Wales and also run the Witness Service in every criminal court.The Witness Service exists to help witnesses, and their family and friends cope with going to court by giving information and support. The service supports witnesses for both the prosecution and defence and also provides comprehensive support to children in court. Like the rest of Victim Support, the Witness Service is free and independent of the police or courts.As Service Delivery Manager, main responsibilities include:1) the recruitment, management, development and retention of staff and volunteers who will support victims and witnesses of crime, 2) development and enhancement of local key stakeholder relationships with a view to enhancing partnership working and identifying and assisting in obtaining local funding, and3) maintaining and enhancing service delivery standards and effectiveness.

Cool2Care is an award-winning social enterprise founded in 2007, committed to providing the very best support to disabled children, young adults and their families. The support covers families caring for children and young adults with all types of disability, including physical, learning and behavioural conditions. We recruit, screen, train and match care-workers and PAs, to enhance the lives of the individual and their families, both in their home and out and about in the community. Cool2Care has enjoyed rapid growth over the last 5 years and currently operates in a number of local authority areas up and down the country. But with widespread social need, new government commitments to disabled children and the trend towards personalisation in social care, we now also offer an independent service across the whole of the UK. Main responsibilities include family liaison and support, recruitment and screening of PAs and volunteers, marketing and promotion of Cool2Care, both nationally and specifically within West Sussex, liaising with local authorities, social services, schools and other disability service providers. From initial family enquiry through to recruitment and placement of their PA, working closely with and supporting our disabled children, young adults and their families identifying their needs and helping to match them with great PAs.
