During my university placement year I was challenged both creatively and strategically, two essential skills for any marketer, enabling a better understanding of marketing in its entirety. I was responsible for a variation of projects and tasks contributing to the Focus Group (Focus Product Developments Ltd & FPD Medical Ltd) achieving and exceeding their organisational objectives set for the 2010/2011/2012 financial year.

As a result of such a successful placement I was further contracted to another years employment, on a part time basis, whilst in my final year of study and promoted to marketing support.

Key tasks and achievements within the 2 years include:-

Building the Aderma Brand:-

As a result of the product and brands pioneering success it was sold in early 2012 to Smith&Nephew. During the handover period I held an integral role in conveying what we believed to be the future of the brand and also the updating and reviewing of all literature (the rebrand).

During my time at University I established a credible personal domestic cleaning business consisting of part time – full time hours depending on the academic calendar. This career move taught me vast amounts with regards to personal application, development and integrity with communication and organisation at the centre to its success.

During my 3 years in this industry, whilst studying for my BTEC National Diploma in Business, I got involved with all aspects of the public house and hospitality trade from cleaning, kitchen duties, bar work, function planning, financial books and overall running of the establishment. During this time I gained a solid work ethic and learnt essential time keeping and organisational skills in relation to applying myself to work and study simultaneously which I continue to thoroughly apply.
