About Rebecca Stephens

As human rights education program manager with RFK Human Rights, a classroom teacher, and a curriculum developer, I have the experience to design effective, standards based human rights curriculum, the knowledge to lead virtual and live trainings that will help educators integrate human rights curriculum seamlessly into their classrooms, and the passion to build our capacity to reach students, help them find their voices, and take meaningful action in their local communities.Collaboration, partner building, synthesis, and innovation make me an effective program manager and educator. Additionally, I have strong communication, writing, and editing skills developed over decades as an educator and writer. The following quote by activist and primatologist Jane Goodall eloquently summarizes my philosophy of education that I bring to any career. "Each one of us matters, has a role to play, and makes a difference. Each one of us must take responsibility for our own lives, and above all, show respect and love for living things around us, especially each other. It is these undeniable qualities of human love and compassion and self-sacrifice that give me hope for the future.”― Jane Goodall, Reason for Hope
